Learning Objectives:
- Explore the infectious risks with performance of regional anesthetic techniques and assess the value of the use of probe covers in reducing this risk
- Compare the benefits and limitations of the use of thoracic paravertebral, erector spinae, and epidural blocks for thoracic surgery
- Develop a procedure-specific algorithm for selection of optimal block for analgesia (thoracic paravertebral vs ESP vs thoracic epidural) based on the source of pain, the duration of pain, and the extent of pain
- Reflect upon newly acquired educational content from the meeting that the participant will take home and apply to their clinical and/or academic practice
